Aillwee Cave is located in the Burren, on Aillwee Mountain near Ballyvaughan, and is only about 20 minutes away from Doolin. It is a beautiful site with stunning views that offers many activities : visit of the cave itself, birds of prey display, woodland craft village, and local food shop which includes cheese making.
Aillwee Cave & Birds of Prey display
Take a half hour tour of these beautiful caves, walk over bridged chasms, under weird rock formations and alongside the waterfall (which sometimes gently sprays over the visitors !). Experience and marvel at the frozen waterfall and explore the now extinct brown bears bones.
Birds of Prey
Aillwee Cave is also home to a beautiful display of birds of prey (eagles, hawks, vultures, owls, etc.) and the centre's mission is to aid the conservation of these birds through visitor awareness and education. Enjoy a dynamic flying display or book a hawk walk while learning all about birds of prey.
